Present during the mishap were guests including the writer and director Nora Ephron and the journalist Barbara Walters , with Ephron later recounting the event in her blog. The painting was set to be sold to fellow billionaire Steven A. Cohen for a record-breaking $139 million, but the deal was scuttled after the damage occurred. The painting was subsequently repaired and in 2013, Cohen ultimately purchased it for $155 million.
